Privacy

Public history,
with a private boundary.

Genealogy can expose people who never chose to be part of a public archive. This site defaults to restraint.

Publication policy

What stays out

Living relatives

No living-person profiles, exact birth dates, private addresses, contact information, relationship disputes, or inferred family connections are published.

Private research files

The working research log, questions, raw GEDCOM, media library, and administrative notes are not web content and are not stored beneath the public site root.

Restricted media

Subscription images and copyrighted newspaper scans are not republished without permission. Citations and archive links are used instead.

Corrections

A correction is recorded with the evidence that caused it. Uncertainty is not silently replaced with a cleaner story.

Questions or correction requests can be sent through the ScottMarx.net contact page.
